O vulcão era guardado por vigias e logo de longe avistaram a bandeira de guerra que foi erguida pelo rei da ilha.

A corneta de guerra foi acionada e instantaneamente todo o povo se posicionou para a batalha, sem nem mesmo questionar.

Vulcânio ficou muito irritado. Soltava fumaça pela boca e nariz e logo toda a ilha estava coberta pela fumaça.

Nero motivava seus homens:

- Guerreiros, avante!

Pensava:

"Hoje eu vou ser dono de tudo aquilo e minha riqueza irá dobrar".

Os semideuses se uniram e subiram bem lá no topo do vulcão, se transformaram em lava. De suas bocas saíam labaredas de fogo, como uma cachoeira quente, outros jogavam fogo que queimava tudo pela frente.

Os habitantes da ilha e os soldados fugiram para o mar.

Nero ao perceber que estava só também fugiu para as águas salgadas. Queria tudo e sem nada ficou. Isso é o que dar cutucar a onça com vara curta.

O falcão só observava de seu ninho tudo o que acontecia.
